You're just sure you've made it, but then again maybe your pride got the better of you because you were talking to someone and weren't sitting alone in the cafeteria.
So you're talking to the person across from you, when another kid sits at the table right on your right. The kid in front of you acknowledges the new comer, so you turn to say hello too. When you see that he's taken aback at why you're saying hello, you realize that he doesn't know you at all. You then realize that you said all of that out loud. You then realize there's no way to play this off.
The person across from you is laughing.
You're trying to repair the situation through apology.
The newcomer tries to make it better by asking if you're in one of his classes.
You try to explain that you all are in the same class, but he probably wouldn't know you because you sit on the other side of the room. You realize that this is all unnecessary and that he should probably just go about eating his burger.
You crumple into a heap of your arms when you turn to face your friend.
Your friend continues to laugh at you, but, as nice as he is, he says it's okay and that you weren't that weird.
