Class was ending and everyone was packing their bags up, when my professor realized that he forgot to take attendance.
He looked around, counting us really quickly, then asked, "Who's not here?"
I made eye-contact, which I think led him to believe that I had the answer. He looked at me expectantly, and I gave an exaggerated shrug. "They can't! They're not here!" I shook my fists at the sky too for emphasis.
At that his face fell, and he seemed pretty confused as to why I was saying this. I'm not even certain he knew I was joking.
