It usually reminds me of this scene from Amanda Bynes' show, What I Like About You, where her character realizes that all of her friends have jobs and internships. To which a surprised Amanda Bynes incredulously looks around at them, "You mean after we hang out, and I go home to listen to music, you guys actually do stuff?"*
That's pretty much how I feel a majority of the time, especially when I learned that Jill and Melissa have internships at a literary journal and Judy has been busy helping with the Girls Club of Atlanta. I had no idea these things were going on! I've been going home and reading books and watching television!
It was when some of my friends were talking about their short stories and novels that I actually thought about it. What is it I write and spend the majority of my time writing? Other than school work that is.
It's these blog posts, and if it's not that, it's fanfiction! And it's not Jane Austen fanfiction, which is sadly marketable now, but anime and Gossip Girl fanfiction! Which I don't even take seriously, but to live out my dreams of these characters because a week is too long for me to go without! The only people getting amusement from these stories are other fanfiction writers and, well, just me.
So excuse me while I reevaluate my existence.
I'll just console myself with my review count.
*This is from memory. I tried to find that scene to post here, if only to appease myself, but gosh it's hard.
